Workshop description: This workshop will begin with a discussion and observation of how coral reefs are formed. We will look at pictures of coral and make drawings, these drawings will serve as the basis of a reef-inspired sculptural form. Jodie will demonstrate a range of hand building techniques and support each participant to create a unique artwork using air drying clay.
About the facilitator: Jodie Swan is the Creative Learning Manager at Ngununggula and a keen maker, crafter and designer. Jodie has an Honours in Visual Arts (University of Sydney) and a Bachelor of Teaching (University of Technology Sydney). Jodie worked as a secondary school Visual Arts teacher for over ten years before joining the team at Ngununggula and loves to support young people to make and create.
