WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE is an annual all-school project facilitated by Ngununggula. We invite a contemporary artist to design an engaging workshop program for primary students, culminating in a collaborative performance at Ngununggula. The program's overarching theme is the natural world, encouraging students to tap into their 'inner wildness' and explore new ways to express themselves through art and performance.
2024 | where the Wild Things are
Artist Liam Benson, facilitated two incursion programs on the 8 and 15 November, 2024 with Berrima Public School students and teachers. The art-making activities encouraged students to use recycled materials to create their own puppets inspired by the natural surroundings of the school.
On Friday, 29 November, all students and teachers attended a ‘day at the gallery’. Students enjoyed a tour of the Archibald Prize 2024 and participated in a collaborative performance and film project with Liam Benson and filmmaker Brian Rapsey, using their puppets that they created during the incursions. The film is currently on display in the entry foyer and will continue until the end of March 2025.
